Accounts Receivable Specialist - Miller Companies - Hastings, MN
We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who takes ownership of both billing execution and collections.
This role is critical to maintaining cash flow across four operating companies. The right candidate will be proactive, organized, and comfortable taking action—especially when it comes to following up on outstanding balances.
Salary: $52,000 – $63,000 (depending on experience)
Core Responsibility: Billing & Collections Ownership
At Miller Companies, we operate on a consistent weekly billing cycle.
All approved billable work is expected to be invoiced each week. This role owns that process end-to-end and ensures nothing sits or falls through the cracks.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Execute weekly invoicing across all companies
- Ensure invoices are sent accurately and on time—no lag
- Manage and actively work aged receivables (30/60/90+)
- Proactively follow up with customers via phone
- Maintain clear documentation of collection efforts and communication
- Identify and escalate risks early (delayed payments, disputes, etc.)
- Maintain the AR inbox and ensure visibility and consistency
- Support month-end AR reconciliation and reporting
- A go-getter mentality—you don’t wait, you move
- Comfortable making collection calls and having direct conversations
- Strong sense of urgency and follow-through
- Ability to manage volume and stay organized
- Takes ownership and follows through without constant direction
- Wants to be part of a growing company building structure and process
- 1-2 years experience preferred
- Not a passive, email-only AR role
- Not a “wait until someone asks” position
- Not a place for work to sit
- Invoices go out consistently every week—no backlog
- Aged AR is actively managed and trending in the right direction
- Customers are followed up with consistently and professionally
- Leadership has clear visibility into receivables and risk
This role may provide light administrative support in an in-office setting, including answering phones or assisting with general office needs.
